Say Goodbye to the Divide

The Gospel Brunch is an experience inside of an emerging story that we like to call Reimagining Church.

We create safe and inviting environments centered around music, where people from all religions, cultures, and walks of life can unite into a felt sense of spiritual connection and heart-opening joy.  The gatherings are designed to eliminate the dogma that can create divisiveness and alienation and allow for the music and singing to guide the way home into true connection with our hearts and souls.

At an international festival that attracts nearly 80,000 people and thousands of epic artists and creators, the Gospel Brunch was by far my biggest highlight. It gave me a taste of something I didn’t even know how much I needed.

A Part of the art

The Gospel Brunch is a non-denominational portal straight into the heart and soul of the human experience, and led by Heartists whose personal connection to life’s beauty and love’s intelligence inspires their creativity and expression.

But the greatest magic in each gathering, is that the audience quickly becomes the choir, and the offering itself becomes a living reference point that is relatable, engaging and helps call people back home into the heart of who they really are.

The Source of the music

Well…if we’re honest…you know who the Source really is ;-)

The songs we sing include a mix of original “soul songs” and sacred music from our featured Heartists, alongside traditional Spirituals and more contemporary Gospel music we have picked up along the way. We will often incorporate Kirtan (traditional Indian chanting), and a few songs that we learned in Lingala when singing with a very special African church in Aurora Colorado.

Tru Osborne is our resident historian on the roots of Gospel as an art form and a tradition. Gospel translates to “Good News” and is grounded in black oral tradition.

Tru taught us that even more than resiliency, Gospel music is about triumph.
